The company serves a variety of organizations throughout the United States, including guaranty agencies, colleges and universities, healthcare organizations, financial institutions, satellite and telecommunications companies, goverment agencies and utilities.

Founded as Credit Bureau of Black Hawk County

1950
Name change to Credit Bureau of Waterloo

1978
Acquired Credit Bureau of Cedar Falls and becomes Credit Bureau of Waterloo-Cedar Falls

1980s
Expansion throughout the Midwest

1986
Thomas R. Penaluna purchased the company and still serves as the President/CEO and owner

1989
Opened West Des Moines, Iowa location.

1987
Credit Bureau of Waterloo-Cedar Falls incorporates and becomes Credit Bureau Enterprises, Inc. (CBE)

1998
The company diversifies its service offerings and becomes The CBE Group, Inc.

2002
CBE Group sold its credit reporting division to Equifax to focus on debt recovery.

2005

CBE Group opened its dedicated government services location

2007
CBE Group opened its Atlanta, GA location

2008
CBE Group celebrated 75 years in business

CBE Group opened its Overland Park, KS location

2010
CBE Group introduced a new corporate brand and tagline
